| NEEDLES, NOTIONS, & HOOKS
Circulars? Straights? Double Points? Cable needles? Afghan hooks? Tatting shuttles? Stitch markers? Darning eggs? Whatever tool you need, if Vermilion Bay doesn’t have it or can’t get it, it just doesn’t exist.
Addi Turbo: Sleek, German engineering for the serious knitter. These high-octane circular precision tools ensure a perfect fabric every time. Their special coating and ergonomic construction make for speedy, effortless knitting. Test drive a pair today!
Chiaogoo Bamboo: A bit of China for Acadiana! Made of Moso Bamboo (a quick-growing, renewable resource!), these needles, are light-weight, but as strong as steel. The name means “crafty lady”, but crafty men rave about them just as much! Vermilion Bay offers Chiaogoo in straights, circulars, and double points.
Brittany Birch: The American poet Robert Frost immortalized the qualities of this cold weather wood in his beloved poem “Birches”. The material is elastic, moves with your hand but doesn’t break. The feel of wooden knitting needles is unparalleled – warm and smooth, complimenting the fabric that sits upon them. Vermilion Bay offers two lengths of Brittany straights and three lengths of double points. The sonorous quality of birches “clicking upon themselves” is a relaxing sound of comfort and home.
Hiya-Hiya: Cute as a panda bear, they are! Vermilion Bay offers these efficient Chinese needles in 9” length circulars in sizes 0-8. They’re perfect for making one sock on one needle (sock sizes come with a free Hiya-Hiya sock pattern, and each package includes a little knitter’s gift from the manufacturer!). Making an infant hat? Try a larger size 9” without stretching your work over a 12” or fussing with a sea of flopping circs! In addition to the cute 9" circs, we also make available bamboo Hiya-Hiyas in standard lengths, sizes 0-4.
Interchangeable Needle Sets: Many knitters nowadays prefer the ease of "creating" their own needle lengths from wonderful sets of tips and cables. The Vermilion Bay Yarn Company provides what you need with the popular Addi Click needle set, as well as Hiya-Hiya Interchangeable Sets. Try the small Hiya set for socks and DK projects, but don't forget the large set for worsted and chunky!
